Saeed M. Farhat, M.D.

Biography

Dr. Farhat attended Utah State for his undergraduate studies. He received his M.D. degree in 1955 at University of Nebraska, interning at Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago.

General surgery residency was completed at University of Nebraska, with board certification in 1961.

After two years of neurology at University of Michigan, he undertook the residency in neurosurgery at University of Michigan. Board certification followed. 

He served as Chairman of Michigan Association of Neurosurgeons in the 1970s. 

Dr. Farhat's main interest was vascular surgery. He served as Chairman of Neurosurgery at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor from 1969 until 1992, and was at UM from 1998 until his death in September of 2019.
