It is with deep sadness that I inform you of Bob Green’s passing here at the University of Michigan. Most everyone either knows Bob or is aware of the tremendous impact he had within and outside the institution. Bob wore many hats at Michigan, including VA Section Chief for many years, a stint in the Deans Office, a prominent role in the ALA of Michigan and head of the Washtenaw Country TB program. Dr. Green will always be remembered for his humor and flair for teaching. Indeed, there was no better teacher of chest radiology than Bob Green. As fortune would have it, Bob was bestowed and was most deserving of the inaugural Pioneers of Pulmonary Medicine in Michigan Award at the annual MTS meeting just three weeks ago. Bob was there in person and put on quite a show. I’ve attached a brief synopsis of Dr. Green’s career that was provided to the MTS for his award.
