Research Development Support

Research Development Support team members within the Medical School Office of Research design and implement services that help faculty become successful in obtaining and maintaining extramural funding and — once successful — share their expertise to help their colleagues do the same.

More specifically, we administer limited submission reviews, edit proposals, develop web resources, conduct funding opportunity searches, provide proposal writing workshops, offer bridging and large proposal support, and support research-related faculty committees as some of our main activities.

We also manage the Mentored Research Academy: R01 Boot Camp — part of the U-M Health System's Strategic Research Initiative.  This is a  multi-tiered, proposal development experience where faculty members work in small groups with senior researchers to prepare a NIH R01 grant proposal.

Faculty members are encouraged to contact us for assistance with pre-award activities related to seeking funding and preparing grant project descriptions.
