Department-led MasterClass workshops continue with discussions on voting rights and health care inequities

DEI Lead Kim Ward offered a series of workshops this fall to facilitate discussion around current events through a historical lens. Based off popular MasterClass courses, the workshops featured Jelani Cobb's Voting Rights: Yesterday and Today and Nikole Hannah-Jones' The Least Insured and the Most Sick.

U-M's 2022 DEI Summit

U-M's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit took place Wednesday, October 12. This year's theme, "Nurturing the Heart, Mind, and Soul," highlighted the intersections of DEI with mental health and well-being, spiritual diversity, and the arts.

 The event recording is now available on YouTube and includes musical performances, remarks from university leadership, and keynote addresses from Sarah Hurwitz, Dr. Todd Boyd, and Dr. Dena Scott.

Post-Election Review: Reproductive Rights & Justice

This session will close a series of Community Conversations with a focus on election results and reproductive justice.  It will cover the conclusion of the legal issues pertaining to access to abortion care at Michigan Medicine. The conversation will then expand to discuss how the broader conversation around access to reproductive care is being shaped in our nation.
