Anesthesiology Faculty Assumes Role as Director of Continuous Professional Development

Dr. David Healy will assume the role as director of continuous professional development in the medical school, effective October 1, 2016.

An associate professor of anesthesiology, Dr. Healy brings a great deal of experience to his new role within the medical school.  He is the associate chair of faculty affairs for the Department of Anesthesiology, responsible for faculty appointment, promotion, development and well-being. He has been a faculty member in the Department of Anesthesiology since 2007, and has served as division director of Head and Neck Anesthesiology since 2008.

Dr. Healy’s clinical focus is head and neck anesthesiology, and his research interests include evaluating techniques used in the prediction of difficulty in airway management, investigating outcomes in free flap surgery, and airway device development. He is a past-president of the Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia (SHANA) and the current fellowship program director.
