Dr. Mark Hausman selected as next Chief of Staff for VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System

Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to announce that Dr. Mark Hausman was selected as the next Chief of Staff for VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. He will officially assume this role on July 1, 2018.

Dr. Hausman is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Michigan Medical School.  He completed his training in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan, and is board certified in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.  Dr. Hausman joined the medical staff at the VA Ann Arbor 4 years ago, and has served in various roles including Medical Director for the Surgical ICU, Chief of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care, and Associate Chief of Staff for Ambulatory Care.  He most recently has been the Acting Deputy Chief of Staff for the healthcare system.  Dr. Hausman holds a grant to study preventable perioperative medication errors and has active research interests in anesthesia care models, perioperative patient optimization and value based healthcare delivery.

Dr. Hausman has lived in Ann Arbor for 18 years as a student, resident, fellow and faculty member at the University of Michigan and the VA Ann Arbor.  He presently resides in Saline with his wife and three children. 

We are so pleased to have Dr. Hausman as a member of our Executive Leadership Team.  I have the utmost confidence that he will continue the strong legacy of his predecessors and stamp his own robust vision for the future of our healthcare system. When you see him in hallway, please give him a hearty congratulations!
