Boehnke and Harris reflect on their mindfulness course in the latest edition of Nature

The semester-long course, which began in 2019, focuses on student well-being.

Kevin Boehnke, Ph.D., and Richard Harris, Ph.D., recently penned a piece for the Nature Careers Community column on the development of a mindfulness course for graduate students. Detailing how they worked together to design the course, they also share what they've learned while practicing their own lessons in meditation and reflection. 

In addition to supporting our students during a time of great struggle, this class has given us new perspective on our own academic lives. Our students reminded us of our own tight focus on academic achievement, reinforcing our ability to take a step back and a deep breath, and to re-orient towards nurturing ourselves and our communities.
