We proudly present Dr. Jayakrishnan (JK) Nandakumar for our April Faculty Corner.

Dr. Nandakumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. After completing his B.Sc. and M.Sc in India, he earned his Ph.D. from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Institute, Cornell University. He joined Dr. Tom Cech’s lab at the University of Colorado Boulder for his postdoctoral studies.  Dr. Nandakumar’s lab uses biochemistry, structural biology, and cell biology to study telomeres and telomerase. Join us as Dr. Nandakumar shares his story from international trainee to tenure-track professor and all the transitions along the way.  Our trainee moderator will be Allie Bouza, an F31 fellowship awarded graduate student in Dr. Lori Isom's lab in the Department of Pharmacology.  Coffee and bagels will be provided.

Biotech Career Exploration Program

Biotech Career Exploration is a structured program to educate, train, and provide career exposure to many aspects of biotechnology outside of the traditional academic tenure-track faculty position.

Throughout the program, trainees will engage in a series of workshops, seminars, and panel discussions to explore career options and prepare for an experiential learning opportunity with an on-campus unit, small business startup, large corporation, non-profit organization, governmental agency, law firm, or any additional non-academic entity.

Deadline to submit an application is February 19, 2018. Space is limited !!!
