René Arvola, Ph.D., mentored by Aaron Goldstrohm, Ph.D., successfully defended her thesis, "Messenger RNA control by Pumilio", on April 24, 2019.

René Arvola, Ph.D., mentored by Aaron Goldstrohm, Ph.D., successfully defended her thesis, "Messenger RNA control by Pumilio", on April 24, 2019.  René has accepted a co-mentored postdoctoral position with Dr. Sharon Amacher and Dr. Guramrit Singh at the Ohio State University where she will study the roles of the Exon Junction Complex in mRNA regulation during neurodevelopment using zebrafish.  Her long term career goal is to study the consequences of RNA dysregulation in development and disease as a principal investigator in academia.
