A team including graduate student Fabienne Birkle and postdoctoral fellow Anindita Sarkar, Ph.D., wins the 2021 Yale Healthcare Case Competition

The Yale Healthcare Case Competition is an annual student-run competition that is sponsored by corporate leaders, nonprofits, and startups in healthcare and biotechnology, and the event brings together interdisciplinary teams of students from multiple professional schools and programs to solve the most challenging problems in the field today. Participating teams received the 2021 case on February 5 and had one week to prepare a recommendation. The virtual competition was then held on February 13 and was followed by an award ceremony and a virtual networking reception. The University of Michigan team consisting of miLEAD members Anindita Sarkar, Fabienne Birkle, Ishtiaq Mawla, Marjana Sarker, and Sydney Smith was awarded first prize out of an international field of over 60 competing teams. Congratulations to Anindita and Fabienne, and to graduate students and fellow miLEAD members Liu Liu and Divyani Paul who also participated in the competition!
