Department of Biological Chemistry

The Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan Medical School educates and trains undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate and medical students in modern biochemistry.  Our research areas include structural enzymology, protein processing and folding, regulation of gene expression and biochemical signaling. Explore our graduate programs and labs, and some of the cutting-edge work being performed by our faculty.

Faculty Positions

The Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position and will also consider established investigators at the Associate Professor or Professor levels. We are interested in candidates working to address important problems in biology using innovative molecular, cellular, genetic and biochemical approaches. New faculty will join a department with strengths in enzymology, structural biology, signal transduction, neurobiology, membrane biology, and chromatin dynamics.  Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and interactive and will be expected to establish or maintain a vibrant and independently funded research program.  Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and a strong record of research accomplishments. For further information, see
