Biography
Phyllis Wright-Slaughter holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Hospital Administration degree from the University of Michigan. Ms. Wright-Slaughter worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, Value Health, the Minnesota Department of Health and Dartmouth College in New Hampshire before joining the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI). At the University of Michigan, Ms. Wright-Slaughter is the Senior Data Architect and is responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of data through development and submission of data use agreements and terms of use agreements. She manages the large national administrative databases, including the Medicare data, AHA, SEER/SEER-linked Medicare, claims files from BCBSM and commercial insurers, and socioeconomic data, required for research related to health care disparities and cost variation. She is responsible for the security of the data housed at the center.
