CSC Brown Bag Series - June 2020

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

"The Critical Care Orientation (CCO) Course and COVID-19: Planning, Implementation and Results" with Marie Wolfer, RN, and Karrie Martis

"We are highlighting the COVID-19 crisis implementation of Critical Care Nursing Education in response to the patient surge and modified Intensive care environments to meet the needs. The course provided essential critical care nursing knowledge and skills needed to care for COVID-19  patients in the intensive care setting. Many nurses were re-deployed to intensive care areas (ICUs) that had not been previously trained in intensive care nursing. This education was turned around and ready to go in 3-days."

CSC Brown Bag Series: To promote collaboration and best practices in simulation-based education and research, the UMCSC is hosting a monthly Brown Bag Series. The series is intended to allow all University faculty, staff, and learners the opportunity to learn and share best practices in simulation-based education and assessment. The series offers something for everyone, with a broad range of topics relating to simulation-based education in medicine.  Presentations will range from projects considered “in-development” from junior educators/researchers to presentations about successfully implemented curricula from the CSC Core faculty. Each session offers attendees the opportunity to gain insights and contribute to a dynamic discussion in a non-intimidating, friendly setting.

For any inquiries/comments, or you would like to present at the CSC BB Series, please contact Deb Rooney, Director of Education and Research, Clinical Simulation Center ([email protected](link is external)).
