Proper trafficking of intracellular components are crucial in human development. Recently, spatial proteomic study has uncovered a novel function of the clathrin adaptor protein complex 1 (AP-1) in expanding the apical membrane during lumen morphogenesis in human pluripotential stem cells (hPSC). However, the mechanism by which AP-1 functions in this process remains a major gap in the field. Our work focuses on examining the role of AP-1 in lumen morphogenesis.
