Our lab is interested in understanding the mechanisms by which oxidized lipids regulate platelet activation, hemostasis, and thrombosis in physiological conditions as well as pathophysiological conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Additionally, our lab is interested in understanding the underlying differences in inherent platelet function by race at a genetic, protein, and whole animal level. Our studies involve studying platelet function from human subjects, animals, as well as cell and molecular level analyses.
