Research Interests
The Rao Lab focuses on epigenetic and epitranscriptomic regulation of retinal development and disease, using mouse and human pluripotent stem cell-derived organoids. We focus on diabetic retinopathy, modeling of congenital eye diseases, retinal development, and regenerative medicine, including first-in-human trials of cell therapy for age-related macular degeneration.
