Certain pigmented lesions, often called sun spots, age spots or liver spots, often appear on our skin as we age, sometimes as a result of repeated sun exposure. These changes in skin pigmentation show up as brown spots or blotches, and can make our skin appear prematurely old. Fortunately, many of these visible signs of sun damage and aging may be improved with laser therapy. The results can make the skin appear much healthier and more youthful.
Pigmented birthmarks, such as café au lait macules or Nevus of Ota also respond well to laser therapy. A series of laser treatments will typically greatly improve or even completely eliminate these light brown or gray birthmarks.
