Ishtiaq Mawla is a Graduate Student through the Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP), being co-mentored by Dr. Rick Harris (CPFRC) and Dr. George Mashour (Center for Consciousness Science). He completed his undergraduate degree at Connecticut College in 2014. After graduation, Ishtiaq worked for a few years as a full-time research technician with Dr. Vitaly Napadow at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital, conducting pain neuroimaging research. In 2017, Ishtiaq joined the NGP at Michigan. Ishtiaq's current work at the CPFRC includes understanding brain networks in space and time, and how these network properties are related to and predictive of chronic pain pathophysiology and treatment.
