Biography

Karen Calhoun, an Academic and/or Research Program Officer with the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR) at the University of Michigan, advocates for diverse interpretation of lived experience and collaboration to improve community/population health outcomes and advance community engaged research. During her career as a community scientist and practitioner, Karen has expertise designing, implementing, and facilitating community health planning and community-based participatory research with multidisciplinary community-academic health partnership teams; focusing on ethics, equity, health disparities and team science to improve community health, healthcare access and health improvement.
