Biography
Tony Larkin is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center at the University of Michigan. He received a B.S. in Biology with Honors from Morehouse College in 2013. During this time, under the mentorship of Daniel Hummer, PhD, he conducted behavioral neuroscience research, focused on studying the neural mechanism of photic entrainment on circadian rhythms in Syrian Hamsters. At the CPFRC, he is currently developing skills and training associated with functional connectivity and graph theoretical analyses of data acquired through functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and electroencephalography (EEG). His graduate work focused on adopting a network approach to understand how multiple brain regions interact as a complex functional network. Ongoing analyses include examining alterations in functional brain networks during sensory processing in chronic pain patients and healthy individuals. He recently received an NIH-DSPAN (F99/K00) award to support his training in complex systems, sensory processing and chronic pain.
