Areas of Interest
Combined pituitary hormone deficiency (CPHD) is a disease that is characterized by lack of growth hormone and one or more other pituitary hormones. The pituitary gland is important for the development and function of multiple organs and pituitary dysfunction can result in a variety of phenotypes with a wide range of clinical severity. The diverse phenotypes that occur in hereditary CPHD can also be incompletely penetrant suggesting the CPHD is an oligogenic disease that requires the investigation of multiple genes to explain the etiology of familial CPHD presentation. I am studying this aspect of CPHD and my goals are to identify unknown genetic causes of CPHD and develop computational methods to help with the identification of unknown genes for complex diseases.
