Congratulations to Marlena, Catherine, and Haley!

The Bioinformatics Program wishes to congratulate Marlena Duda on her recent award notification for the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program!
In addition, both Haley Amemiya and Catherine Barnier received honorable mentions. The Program is proud of all of their achievements. 

Marlena is currently pursuing research under the guidance of Prof. Yuanfang Guan. Marlena’s aim is to utilize machine learning techniques on integrated data sets in order to improve screening and diagnosis of neuropsychiatric conditions.

Haley Amemiya is a PhD student in Cellular & Molecular Biology, plus she is pursuing a Bioinformatics Master’s degree. Her current research in Dr. Alan Boyle’s lab is to define the rules governing CRISPR / Cas9 system efficiencies.

Catherine Barnier’s current research projects are related to elucidating the working of bacterial regulatory networks. She’s pursuing her Bioinformatics PhD in Dr. Peter Freddolino’s lab.
