COVID-19: Responding to the Crisis in India

As India struggles with the deluge of COVID-19 cases, members of the Michigan Medicine community are engaged in efforts to help. Michigan Medicine benefits from a number of longstanding institutional relationships in India, at the heart of which is an expansive network of individual faculty partnerships and collaborations. While not surprising, it is heartwarming that our global health community is determined to leverage their networks to confront this challenge.

These relationships are longstanding, and the resulting relief efforts are being administered through highly reputable organizations. If are in a position to help, please consider giving through one of the organizations below:

India COVID SOS is a volunteer group of scientists, clinicians, engineers, policy-makers and epidemiologists from the international global community with representatives from Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and many more. U-M Center for Global Surgery director Krishnan Raghavendran and Hospital Medicine Chief Vineet Chopra are involved in this group, which is providing home care resources, diagnostics equipment, medication and more.
