“Imagining the future” with long-read

Kin Fai Au who joined DCMB on February 1, 2023, is cited in Nature Methods.

Long-read sequencing is enabling a vast number of discoveries in reading genomes, transcriptomes and epigenomes in humans and other species. Kin Fai Au who joined DCMB on February 1, 2023, is cited in Nature Methods as one who is “imagining the future” with long-read. “Many ‘-seq’ named methods have emerged and,” says Au, “and more will emerge related to long reads as “one of the future efforts in the community.”

For its momentous methodological advancement and broad application, Nature Methods has chosen long-read sequencing as their Method of the Year 2022.
