Check it out! Free Skin Cancer Screening

Michigan Medicine Dermatology is hosting a Free Skin Cancer Screening Clinic on Saturday, May 18, 2019, 9:00am – 12:00pm at the Mohs/Cutaneous Surgery and Oncology Clinic* on Level 1 of the Rogel Cancer Center.

Appointments are required, please call 734-936-4068 (Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm). Based upon availability, appointments will be taken through Wednesday, May 15th.

May is Melanoma Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month! Skin cancer warning signs include changes in size, shape or color of a mole or other skin lesion, the appearance of a new growth on the skin, or a sore that doesn't heal. If you notice any spots on your skin that are different from the others, or anything changing, itching or bleeding, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends that you make an appointment with your  dermatologist or physician.

Regular skin checks play an important role in early detection and treatment of skin cancers. Learn more about skin cancer risk factors, signs and symptoms and how to complete a self-check of your skin at the Rogel Cancer Center. In addition, the American Academy of Dermatology provides a listing of Free Spot Me Skin Cancer Screenings events being hosted elsewhere in Michigan and throughout the nation.
