“To help meet the needs of our aging population by fostering the development of compassionate and knowledgeable geriatricians who utilize a team approach to render high-quality, expert care to older adults, including those with multiple comorbidities, frailty, cognitive concerns, and functional deficits.

To foster the development of future geriatric leaders by cultivating interest among trainees as to the myriad career opportunities in Geriatric Medicine that include innovations to enhance age-friendly systems and models of care, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, aging research (e.g. health services, clinical, translational, and biogerontology research), health care policy, and geriatric medical and interprofessional education needs.

To provide Geriatric Medicine fellows with resources and mentors to facilitate maintaining work-life balance and wellness, and to explore notions of resilience and finding meaning in one’s professional work, in order to help better navigate their future careers and serve as positive role models for peers and learners.”
