Dr. Daniel Hinshaw, Professor Emeritus of Surgery in the UM Medical School, has recently been offered a residential fellowship as a visiting professor at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study for the Fall 2018 semester. The program brings together international scholars from the arts and sciences to explore "ultimate questions and questions of value" from their respective perspectives in a collegial environment. Dr. Hinshaw’s proposal for a book project entitled, "Kenosis and the Mystery of Life" was accepted by the Institute and he will be spending his time working on it during his time in South Bend.
