Establishing, promoting, and enhancing multidisciplinary and collaborative basic biomedical and clinical research among member investigators studying diabetes, its complications, and related endocrine and metabolic disorders.

Advancing medical and biological research at the University of Michigan by providing the scientific community with standardized, high quality metabolic and physiologic phenotyping services for mouse models of diabetes, diabetic complications, obesity and related metabolic diseases and conditions.

 Identifying improved methods for the prevention and treatment of obesity, supporting a continuum of care from primary, secondary, tertiary prevention.
