Dr. Brendan Byrne is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine of the University of Michigan Medical School. He works clinically at the University Hospital ED, the Mott Children’s Hospital ED, and the Hurley Medical Center ED. Dr. Byrne earned his bachelor’s in French Literature and Language from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University. He did his internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia, then graduated from the Diving Medical Officer Course at the US Navy Dive and Salvage Training Center and the Undersea Medical Officer Course at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute. His specialty training was completed at Sinai-Grace Hospital/Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University’s affiliated program. Academic interests include Tactical Medicine, Ethics, Clinical Ultrasound and Hyperbarics.
