Biography

Dr. Cranford is an Associate Research Scientist here in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Michigan Medicine.  He obtained his doctoral degree in Social Psychology from the University at Albany, State University of New York, and  completed his postdoctoral training in Advanced Quantitative Methods for Mental Health Research in the Department of Psychology at New York University; and in the Multidisciplinary Alcoholism Research Training Program at the Addiction Research Center in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. His colleagues and he have ongoing research focusing on 1) family context of cardiovascular health and substance use disorders; and 2) application of longitudinal statistical methods to studies of mental health and substance use. He also consults with Emergency Medicine faculty, fellows, and residents on research design and statistical analysis.
