What made you choose EM as your specialty? After completing medical school, I realized there was nothing like emergency care in Ghana. There was no mechanism to stratify patients as they came in for treatment and some were dying undiagnosed at the emergency rooms. I wanted to be part of the solution and part of the action and not to just sit in a consulting room diagnosing cold cases.
How can EM help Ghana? EM will help make quality evidence based medicine more accessible to all Ghanaians from all walks of life irrespective of their socioeconomic status. It will also allow the creation of a database for all the various cases including those specific to Ghana.
What are your research areas of interest? Epidemiology of motorcycle accidents and their impact on the family unit and the community as a whole.
