On Wednesday, April 10, 2019 more than 160 Emergency Medicine faculty, staff, trainees, researchers, and more came together at the North Campus Research Complex for the Fourth Annual William G. Barsan Emergency Medicine Research Forum. Attendees were immersed in the innovative work being done within the department though oral presentations and a poster session.
The forum began with a keynote presentation from Dr. Clifton Callaway, Professor, Vice-Chair, and Ronald D. Stewart Endowed Chair in Emergency Medicine Research at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Callaway shared insights from his career and research on improving brain injury after cardiac arrest. Twelve presentations by faculty and 45 posters rounded out the forum, providing an overview of the cutting-edge research being performed in our department.
Throughout the day, presentations were delivered by faculty, residents, and fellows about their research. Dr. Robert Neumar announced the William G. Barsan Professorship and Dr. Brian Zink shared with us the new EM Resident/Fellow Research Development Grant that is available.
