My name is Courtney Spensley. I was born on the West Coast but grew up in Minnesota and Connecticut. I went to college at Western Michigan University and then moved to upstate New York for graduate school. While there, I worked for Planned Parenthood and developed a strong interest in women's health. I then decided to pursue a degree in medicine and moved to Kentucky, where I attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Family medicine appealed to me because of the huge variety of patients, problems, and careers. University of Michigan felt like the best place for me train because of the opportunity to work in both academic and community settings and because of the number of resources available for me to explore my interests. In addition to women's health, my clinical interests include outpatient procedures and global health.
In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, spending time outdoors, cooking, trying new foods, traveling and improving my French.
