Biography

Hi! My name is Ellen Williams and I grew up in Milford, Michigan, a small town outside of Detroit. I attended the University of Michigan for undergrad, where I graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience. I stayed at U-M for medical school, and now here I am for residency!

I fell in love with family medicine because it addresses all aspects of patient care, including the social structure around patients and how that may affect their health. I think primary care is exciting and important because of the change I can affect as a physician through preventative medicine and health maintenance. I’m thrilled to be a member of the U-M Family Medicine Residency Program because I think it offers a great balance of community and academic medicine!

During my free time, I like to bake and try different crafts like sewing and knitting. I’m also a beginner yogi! I love Ann Arbor and exploring all the great restaurants and cafes, and I especially like to try new desserts! My fiancé and I also enjoy hiking all the surrounding parks and trails.
