Emily E. Smith, M.D.

Hello! My name is Emily Smith. I am originally from the Dallas area in Texas, but have also lived in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Illinois. I attended Northwestern University for my undergraduate education and Medical College of Georgia for medical school. I am passionate about prevention and health maintenance, providing holistic and compassionate longitudinal care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, and advocacy. I was drawn to the University of Michigan Family Medicine Residency Program because of the supportive environment of faculty, staff, and residents, the focus on health equity and justice, the balanced exposure to academic and community medicine, the ample teaching opportunities, and the quality of life in Ann Arbor. In my free time, I love to run, walk, hike, play tennis, spend time with my husband, chat with family and friends, and watch comedies on tv.
