Ashley Bentley manages pipeline workforce and undergraduate medical education initiatives for the American Academy of Family Physicians and serves as program manager of the America Needs More Family Doctors collaborative of nine national and international primary care and workforce organizations.

Her AAFP portfolio includes administration of the national Family Medicine Interest Group Network, management of resident and student leadership programs, research and analysis of workforce trends in family medicine and primary care, and professional workshops and presentations for students, faculty, and others who influence pathways to family medicine. The America Needs More Family Doctors collaborative work is emerging, and Ms. Bentley has helped lead the partner organizations, using a Collective Impact model and approach, to develop new and mutually reinforcing interventions to shift the conditions holding America’s primary care physician workforce crisis in place and achieve population and system-level change to reach 25% of U.S. medical students pursuing family medicine by 2030.

Ms. Bentley holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Kansas, is a Certified Association Executive by the American Society of Association Executives, and is a trainer and facilitator in Relational Leadership.
