Greetings! My name is Garrett Roe. I was born and raised in Saginaw, Mich. where I was fortunate enough to meet my beautiful wife while in high-school. From here I was lucky enough to attend the University of Michigan for my undergraduate studies in Neuroscience and then went to medical school at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. I learned to love our state’s capital and its diverse population and it was here where I learned how to practice the “art” of medicine. I also learned to love aspects of all areas of medicine and finally realized primary care was a perfect fit for me.
It feels great to back in Ann Arbor, a city which has always been a second home to me. I am also thrilled and excited to be a part of such an awesome residency program here at the University of Michigan. I was drawn by the perks of practicing in both a rigorous academic environment in Ann Arbor, as well as a more community-based setting in Chelsea; you truly get the best of both worlds! Also having a strong interest in sports/musculoskeletal medicine, I was drawn to the great experiences and opportunities available here in Ann Arbor.
Outside of medicine I enjoy all sports (particularly ice hockey), exercising, trying new foods, and spending time with my amazing wife. It’s safe to say that I am one of the few people who actually enjoys Michigan’s cold weather and all the winter activities that come along with it. If you have any questions or just want to chat about how great Michigan is, feel free to email me. And as always, Go Blue!
