Biography
Hi! My name is Kate Meixner. I grew up in the wonderful Mitten State and planted my roots in Ann Arbor for many years through undergrad, med school, and now residency. I did venture away for some time, spending six years as a high school teacher in Chicago where I helped create a health science pipeline program for underrepresented students. In urban public education, I saw firsthand the impact a school system can have on communities, for better and worse. I was drawn to medicine because I saw similar opportunities for positive change in our health care system. I love that in family medicine each day our work can have such great impact, whether for an individual patient or a whole population. Outside of medicine, I live the adventure of co-parenting a toddler and preschooler. We love to be outdoors--camping, hiking, swimming, playing sports, or just doing anything under the sun. And if the weather brings us in, we are total board game nerds!
