Mehwish Sajid, M.D.

Class of 2021
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

Hi, my name is Mehwish! I was born in Pakistan and immigrated to New York City with my family when I was three years old. My father's passion to serve medically underserved communities brought us to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where I spent most of my childhood. Growing up in a rural community, I was exposed to health disparities and the role quality primary care physicians play in addressing these disparities at an early age. I attended the University of Michigan and received my degree in Neuroscience. I attended medical school at Michigan State University. I had the privilege of completing my clinical years in Flint, further demonstrating the pivotal role of primary care physicians to serve as patient advocates. I'm very excited to be back in Ann Arbor to train as a Family Medicine physician at the University of Michigan! This program has a unique combination of academic and community-based medicine led by incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming faculty. I am confident this program will prepare me to be a well-rounded and dynamic family physician for my future patients. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, savoring new restaurants, cafes, and bookstores, watching Michigan football, and spending quality time with loved ones.
