Hi! My name is Olivia and I was raised in Rochester, NY. I completed my undergraduate degree at Cornell University and graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. Essentially, I've been in Upstate NY my entire life before coming to Ann Arbor, which was a move prompted not only by my husband (a native Michigander and lifelong U-M fan), but by how spectacular the family medicine program is!
I was introduced to family medicine through my mom, a family physician, but it wasn't until I was diagnosed with a serious medical issue that I saw her in action first hand and realized what family medicine entailed. This only carried on throughout my medical school career as I realized how important a family physician is to patient advocacy, education, and health care coordination. I'm thrilled to be at U-M to train and love how there are so many academic benefits of training at a large institution, but also how there is so much invested in their under served communities.
In my time outside of medicine, I love arts and crafts of all kinds, particularly sewing and modern calligraphy. My husband and I enjoy visiting family, spending time on Lake Michigan, and we hope to be part of a local church community during our time in Ann Arbor!
