Hello! My name is Steven Korycinski. I grew up in Macomb, Michigan, a city located 30 minutes north of Detroit. I went to the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in statistics. While there I met my wife and together we attended medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine. I discovered a passion for Family Medicine during clinical rotations in my third year. I loved the interactions I had with my patients and quickly developed an appreciation for preventative care. I saw the field of Family Medicine as an opportunity to acquire a broad depth of knowledge about medical care while maintaining the close relationships I had always envisioned having with my patients.
While I applied to many great programs, there was no doubt in my mind that the University of Michigan was the place for me. I've loved both the university and the city of Ann Arbor since I was a little boy. In fact, I consider the two very much one in the same. Ann Arbor is a fantastic combination of academic institution woven into the culturally diverse life of a small city that feels much bigger in person. To continue my training here is a dream come true. I'm excited to continue my education in Ann Arbor and to share it once again with my wife and our new baby girl!
