MHWFAC work presented at international conference

Scientific findings by Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center faculty will be among the research highlighted during poster sessions this week at the World Allergy Congress in Lyon, France.

The three-day conference is among the premier events for clinicians and researchers in the allergy, asthma and immunology fields, drawing more than 2,000 attendees each year.

It is hosted by the World Allergy Organization (WAO), an international umbrella organization whose members consist of 99 regional and national allergology and clinical immunology societies from around the world. By collaborating with member societies, WAO provides direct educational outreach programs, symposia and lectureships to members in nearly 100 countries around the globe.

Dr. Baker and colleagues will present a poster summarizing "Intranasal adjuvant induces retinaldehyde dehydrogenase activity in dendritic cells via p65 signaling.”

The title of Dr. Lukacs’ presentation is "Inhibition of Pannexin 1 hemichannels in the airways epithelium reduces the characteristic inflammatory response in an asthmatic mouse model.”
