November 19 webinar: Young adults and food allergy

The latest installment in our "Conversations with a Food Allergy Counselor" focused on the independent management of food allergies.

Our food allergy counselor Kim Menzel, LMSW, ACSW  and her special guests Daniel Kadden and Haley Wise, discussed college life and transitioning to the adult workplace while coping with multiple food allergies -- and what they wish their younger selves had known.
About the panel:
Daniel Kadden grew up in Long Island, New York. He has anaphylactic allergies to sesame seeds, tree nuts, and coconut. Daniel attended the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a BA in Economics. While attending the University of Michigan, Daniel served on the MHWFAC board, where he focused on raising awareness and expanding resources for students and families of students with food allergies on campus. Upon graduation, he is the founding Co-Chair for the Rising Leaders Committee at the advocacy organization FARE.
Haley Wise is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and currently is a senior at the University of Michigan. She is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Community Action and Social Change, with hopes of pursuing a career in social work. Haley has grown up with several food allergies, and hopes to help those going through a similar experience by getting involved with the MHWFAC.
