Edward Goldman, JD, Founding Director of the Sexual Rights and Reproductive Justice Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is one of two recipients of the 2015 UM Center for the Education of Women’s Carol Hollenshead Award for Excellence in Promoting Equity and Social Change. Mr. Goldman, who is Adjunct Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, also holds teaching appointments in the School of Public Health, the LS&A Women's Studies Department, and in the Law School. He spent more than 30 years running the University's Health System Legal Office and has also served as associate vice president and deputy general counsel for the University.
This year's Hollenshead Award will be presented on Wednesday April 1st at 5:00pm in Kahn Auditorium, which is in the Biomedical Science Research Building. The award ceremony will precede a free public lecture by Michel Martin, American journalist and correspondent for National Public Radio and ABC News. Martin came to NPR in 2006 and launched Tell Me More, a one-hour daily news and talk show that aired nationwide from 2007-2014. She has spent more than 25 years as a journalist — first in print with major newspapers and then in television and radio.
