Global Michigan Highlights Otolaryngology Partnership in Ghana

Several University of Michigan communicators recently returned from a trip to Ghana, where they covered, among other things, the growing partnership between the University's Department of Otolaryngology and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, Ghana.

The communications team, led by William Foreman, Associate Director of International Communications, followed three UM physicians as they spent at week in training sessions with KATH colleagues and treating patients with a variety of chronic ear infections and complications.  Drs. Greg Basura, Jeff Moyer, and Mark Prince have made several trips to Ghana over the past few years as part of a new collaboration between the two institutions aimed at building ear, nose, and throat training programs for Ghanaian medical students and residents.
