Areas of Interest
My research focus is on the kinetics and mechanisms of DNA ligases in the context of DNA damage and repair. I use both ensemble and single-molecule techniques to measure the kinetics of ligation. I look at these reactions in vitro using both naked DNA substrates and nucleosome substrates. Finally, there are ligase syndromes caused by mutations which I will study by creating the mutants and investigating the changes in kinetics of and conformations during ligation.
