This award is given to 13 PhD students nationwide each year by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle WA. This is one of the most prestigious competitive awards given to scientists in the bio-medical sciences, at any level. The award includes travel to Seattle, a symposium at the Hutch, and an honorarium. The Weintraub Award appropriately recognizes one of the great scientific minds of our nation and time -- a fearless and imaginative scientist.
