Areas of Interest

I am interested in utilizing and designing high-throughput methods to further understand transcriptional regulation in the human genome. Specifically, my research focuses on identifying transcription activating and repressing cis-regulatory elements using novel CRISPR-based reporter technologies. In addition, I am also interested in understanding how transcription factors coordinate gene regulation to maintain a homeostatic state, or transition to a response state when challenged with an exogenous stress. To approach this, we are collaborating to develop a new method where the binding sites of all genome-bound transcription factors are isolated simultaneously and constructed into a sequencing library.
