Research Interests

Glioma microenvironment is highly heterogeneous and constantly evolving. My project has identified the various myeloid cells in the glioma microenvironment that are highly immunosuppressive to the anti-tumor T cell responses. I am specially focusing on studying the effect of the IDH1 mutation in glioma-infiltrating myeloid cell phenotype and function. Results obtained so far indicate that myeloid cell functionality is impacted by the tumor microenvironment and strategies that inhibit the accumulation of the immunosuppressive myeloid cells improve tumor clearance and survival.
