Dr. Johann Gudjonsson Elected to Membership in ASCI & ADA
Johann Gudjonsson, MD PhD, Arthur C. Curtis Professor of Skin Molecular Immunology and Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Michigan, has been elected to membership in the highly prestigious American Society for Clinical Investigation, following a rigorous peer-reviewed nomination and election process. Dr. Gudjonsson is one of only 80 new members selected on the basis of outstanding scholarly achievement from a nearly 250 nominees.
Membership in the ASCI is a major milestone in the physician-scientist career path. The ASCI is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected nonprofit medical honor societies and is a key organization focused on the special role of physician-scientists in research, clinical care, and medical education, in addition to leadership roles many members hold positions in academic medicine and the life-sciences industry.
Dr. Gudjonsson has also been newly elected as a member of the American Dermatological Association (ADA), the first national dermatological society in the United States, est. 1876. Membership in the ADA is achieved through nomination and election based on meritorious contributions to the field of Medicine and Dermatology. ADA members are recognized leaders in Dermatology research, education, organizational medicine, and patient care.
